If you want see an amazing underwater viewing, you should go for a scuba diving adventure in Calgary. Getting to Calgary in Canada is easy and enjoyable with open roads and green landscape.

You do have another option if you prefer to get there faster. Getting on the nearest plane will allow to fly right in and that way, you can spend less time on the road and more time in the water.

Prepare for Your Trip

If you want to take that drive to Calgary, you will need to be prepared for the trip. It's not as short distance. First, you need to make sure that your car is in good condition. Get your car checked thoroughly before you leave home.

Secondly, you need to pack all the things that you need for scuba diving in Calgary and load them in the car. You can buy much of the equipment on location if you need to. And, the part that is very helpful is that a lot of shops have a pool attached.

Also you need to remember that the family may need breaks and rest during the trip to make sure everyone arrives in a good mood and ready to dive and enjoy themselves

Once you arrive in Calgary, you have many options when it comes to where to dive:

Lake Minnewanka is a shallow lake just inside Banff National Park, suitable for in experienced divers Advanced divers may want to go to Ghost Lake (approx. 20 miles west of Calgary, 10 miles past Cochrane)

This is where Ghost River joins the Bow River. Ghost Lake is deep and COLD year-round, and on hot summer many windsurfers congregate there.

In town, there are man-made lakes: Sundance Lake, Lake Midnapore, Lake Bonavista and Lake Bonaventure (these are community-owned so you need permission ).

You can also dive at larger lakes around the province.

Calgary is well known for its winter weather, which includes the skiing bobsledding and the winter games. Its Scuba diving areas and little know outside the are, which makes for small crowds and space for your family.
